Ever been Hypnotized ? Think you can't be ? Myths about Hypnosis. January 4 is World Hypnosis Day - Today, take time & relax




Ever been Hypnotized ?
Think you can’t be ?

There are many MYTHS with Hypnosis.  That it’s some kind of …
*Spirits
*Occult or un-Godly experience

Hypnosis is neither !

 
Ever read a book and get lost into the experience ?
Watch a movie or sports event, and can’t hear anyone, when they speak to you ?
Drive to work and never remember if you stopped at any of the stop lights ?

Do you believe, what you have experienced in the examples above … That you’ve entered into a world of spirits or an occult has taken over you ?   No, not quite !

What you have experience is Hypnosis.  Self-Hypnosis.

 
When my mother first told my father, that I had taken classes to be a Hypnotherapist, he was appalled.  My father was totally against anything that would be out of the realm of God.  And I would too, if that’s what Hypnosis was.
 
Luckily, my mother already knew what Hypnosis was, when I told her I wanted to do this.  She must have known, that any lessons that I could gain, with learning Hypnosis, would do nothing but help by life.  

 
Here’s at least 3 examples of Hypnosis that you’ve experienced already …

1)You read a book or watch a movie … And you get totally lost into your activity of choice, and barely remembering where you’re at.

It’s you.  It’s not some kind of spirit taking over your body.  You have allowed, whatever experience you are currently in, to absorb you.  To keep your interest.  To mesmerize you.

2)You attend a sports event or an interesting seminar.  Again, you get totally focused on what it taking place or what it said.

Though someone else is doing the activity, it is still You, who is allowing yourself, to get totally into what is going on.  Again, mesmerized with something else.

3)You stop and relax and take your mind off work or get ready to go to sleep/take a nap … Without any outside sources in helping you.  And it works … You relax … You go to sleep. 

Again, this is You.  This is self Hypnosis.  When you intentionally choose to relax !

 
It’s said in the Hypnosis World, that the smarter you are, the easier you can by Hypnotized.  Commenting that you are not smart won’t work here.  The proof, as they say, is in the pudding.


Hypnosis is ONLY relaxation.  It’s not voodoo or spirits or anything of this nature.  It's not, reading of any cards or into your future.

And relaxation is not un-Godly !  Mentioned the Bible in my article, is not meant to offend non believers, however, for those who do believe … Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the Sabbath day … Six days you shall labor … but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.

Put 2 and 2 together here … If you are relaxed, and fully listening to words of a sermon … It’s not any different than listening at a movie or to a seminar !  Relaxation will allow you to “open up your mind” and absorb what is being said.

When we are relaxed, our subconscious comes into play.  Though much of what we may do can be on the conscious level, there are other type of things that take place in our subconscious level.

The subconscious is where our memories are stored.  When you think back to a memory …Good or bad … This is where your mind has taken you …To your subconscious level of the mind.

It’s even the location where we can alter our way of thinking.  Say you have a bad experience … This will just sit in your subconscious !  It can cause repeat experiences … Can cause anxiety and fear ! Till YOU choose to alter what is in your subconscious !

Some folks are great at self-Hypnosis.  They will consciously realize that they are experiencing anxiety, or fears, or something is just wrong … And stop for relaxation and turn themselves around.

Others need help with this relaxation process. Even though they can get all wrapped up in a good book, movie or sports event,  or movie … They’ll automatically turn to their conscious mind and think they can change their altered believes, fears, and habits.

Unfortunately, that’s not where it’s done.  You can change your way of thinking on the surface, but if you’ve not changed your believes in your subconscious, those thoughts and experiences can come back to haunt you. 

Ever been hurt in a relationship ?  Get out of that relationship and move into another ?  Then something this new person does, sets off flags or a radar in you ?  Though you can “thank” your subconscious in select situations, if this new person is actually genuine and not actually done anything to cause this skepticism in you … Then it’s YOU … It’s your subconscious that needs an alteration.

 
Like laughter … Hypnosis (relaxation) is also good for you !  Whether it’s self-Hypnosis or your need to turn to a Hypnotherapist in helping you guide or alter your subconscious. 

When you find yourself drifting to “thoughts” that hurt you or can’t rid yourself of habits … It’s truly “time” to consciously work on your subconscious.
