Oatmeal. Though carbs do put me to
sleep and I personally have to avoid them in the day, it’s amazing, that for years,
it has been suggested, eat Oatmeal for breakfast; maybe this is why folks are
tired once they get to work (even contains some melatonin) !
This
article says, “Carbohydrates trigger insulin to move other nutrients out of the
blood into cells, enhancing utilization of tryptophan. Oatmeal also contains
calcium, some melatonin, and B6, a vitamin that is necessary for production of
neurotransmitters”.
Also, this was posted on my facebook today. It's like an online seminar, by a Dr in Palm Beach, Fla who truly wants to help folks avoid or get rid of heart disease - The Silent Killer. This video is very imformative.
Talks about raising HDL (the good cholesterol) and lowering inflammation and have more energy (Cut sugar and refine carbs, excercize, make time for stress release, cut fats, eat fruits and veggies, chick and fish are ok, with min red meat, and more); and of course, stop smoking. He mentions the 4 things to know when a Heart Attack is coming on (one that is coming on in minutes or you get the signs a couple weeks in advance (he doesn't tell the whole story here). He talks of folks, needing to get heart test over 50 - a full test and plaque test, to find out which LDL cholesterol you have; and that the total points on cholesterol is not the way to look at it; need to know the type of LDL.
He offers his free book and 2 articles which finishes explaining, the 4 things to know when a heart attack is coming ... you must sign up for his future monthly articles ... sounds like great info ... best part, you can cancel before they begin or whenever you want. Seems like a no loose offer !
More importantly, why not take 30 min to see this video; could be what saves your life ! Seeing this, could actually be what wakes myself up more !
